Josh Lambert serves on the vestry at St. Andrew’s, and he is the one who built and tends this website. When football is on, he pulls for the Auburn Tigers and the Miami Dolphins.
By trade, Josh builds things that are not supposed to still exist: small businesses, independent infrastructure, and the open web. He is the founder and president of Alabama Lightwave, a fiber and broadband company serving Alabama, and the principal of Centreville Tech. Along the way he has worked on private wireless networks, open-source mobile network tooling, and a free WordPress plugin or two, and he chairs a small open-source software foundation. He writes about rural broadband, the open web, and faith from a small town in Alabama.
That last thread runs through everything. Josh reads N.T. Wright and C.S. Lewis, and he is drawn to the same hope this parish proclaims: that ordinary, durable, local work, done well, is part of how heaven and earth are being knit back together. Building a church website, it turns out, is not so far from building anything else worth keeping.
