Kathy Hoefker

Kathy Hoefker serves on the vestry at St. Andrew’s, the elected lay council that helps lead the parish. She comes to the work with a resume built for it: she spent her career at the University of Montevallo, where she served as Registrar, the keeper of every transcript, record, and requirement on campus, and the university honored that service by naming her Registrar Emerita. A parish, like a university, runs on faithful record-keeping and patient follow-through, and Kathy has spent a lifetime at both.

Her roots are in Illinois, where she earned her bachelor’s degree at Eastern Illinois University, and her loyalty to the Chicago Bears survived the move south intact. Montevallo became home: she earned her Master of Education here in 1993, and she has been woven into the life of the town ever since, most recently lending her steady hand to Montevallo’s civic life as an appointed officer for the city’s 2025 municipal election.

Off the clock she is a reader, a John Prine listener, and, the Bears notwithstanding, a Crimson Tide fan on Saturdays. Say hello at coffee hour. She has likely already remembered your name.
