The Rev. Quincy Hall, Priest-in-Charge at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Priest-in-Charge

The Rev. Quincy Hall serves as Priest-in-Charge of St. Andrew’s in Montevallo and St. Mark’s in Birmingham. Ordained to the priesthood in the spring of 2026, he came to the altar by an unusual road: he was an organist long before he was a priest, and he brings a musician’s ear to the work of worship.

A Franciscan at heart, Quincy is passionate about preaching good news for a wounded world and helping the Church become a place of beauty, mercy, justice, and belonging. He cares about worship that is beautiful, presence that is compassionate, and a community where people can bring their whole selves and discover they are met by grace. He is especially drawn to the holy work of walking with people through joy, grief, and change, and the everyday search for God in ordinary life.

Before ordination, Quincy spent years in higher education at the University of Alabama, serving students through the Learning Commons, the Honors College, and residential life, and he led music at churches in Montevallo and Tuscaloosa. He earned his Master of Divinity at Bexley Seabury Seminary, and holds a Master of Education in school counseling and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from the University of Montevallo.

He shares life and ministry with Francis, his schnauzer and unofficial office manager, who greets visitors enthusiastically and offers regular reminders that even sacred work needs a little delight and fresh air. Online, where he writes as Q the Rev, Quincy keeps a publication of reflections, sermons, and prayers. If you are wondering whether you would be welcome here, the answer is yes. Come and see.
