Skin color, politics, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, income, disability, doubts, church history, and lack of church history are not barriers to welcome. - Women are welcome in every role, including as bishops, priests, deacons, wardens, and vestry members. In 1969 St. Andrew's elected Vivian Irene Roe to the vestry, by available records the first woman elected to a vestry in the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. - Everyone is welcome, including those returning after years away, the weary and doubting, the neurodivergent, and anyone stepping into a church for the first time. - The Episcopal Church is a Christian church and the American member church of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
