St. Andrew's Wardrobe

A closet with an open door

Sometimes a hard month leaves little room for a new coat, a pair of shoes, or clothes for a growing child. St. Andrew’s Wardrobe exists for those moments. The Wardrobe is a free clothing closet for neighbors in Montevallo and the surrounding area. Anyone in need is welcome.

Clothing is available on a first come, first served basis. There is no charge. Come and take what you need.

When and where to come

St. Andrew’s Wardrobe is open on the third Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

You will find the Wardrobe in the parish hall at:

The church stands in downtown Montevallo at the corner of Oak and Plowman Streets, across from Montevallo High School and one block from the University of Montevallo.

Give clothing

The Wardrobe is sustained by gifts from the community. If you have clean, gently used clothing, leave your donation under the awning beside the parish hall. From the front of the church, follow the pathway on the left side of the building.

Please do not leave electronics or furniture. Those items should go to a thrift store or another appropriate donation site. Electronics may also be recycled at the Montevallo Recycling Center, 1120 Overland Road in Montevallo.

The work of ordinary hands

Parish volunteers set out the clothing, keep the closet in order, and pack everything away again. It is simple work, but simple work matters. A shirt, a warm coat, and a good pair of shoes can help make a difficult week a little lighter.
