Welcome to St. Andrew’s

We are glad you’re here.

Whether you are new to church, new to the Episcopal tradition, visiting Montevallo, or looking for a church home, you are welcome at St. Andrew’s. We are a community gathered by the love of Jesus Christ, shaped by prayer, scripture, sacrament, and a desire to grow in faith together.

Wherever you are on your journey, there is a place for you here.

What to Expect

When you join us for worship, you can expect a service that is prayerful, reverent, and grounded in the beauty of Anglican tradition. Our worship includes scripture readings, a sermon, prayers for the Church and the world, and Holy Communion.

Some people come dressed up, while others come more casually. Please come as you are.

If you are unfamiliar with Episcopal worship, do not worry. You do not need to know all the words or customs to participate. We will help guide you, and you are welcome simply to listen, pray, and take it all in.

Holy Communion

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion in the Episcopal Church.

If you would prefer not to receive Communion, you are still welcome to come forward for a blessing. You may indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest. Gluten-free wafers may also be available.

Children and Families

Children are welcome at St. Andrew’s.

We believe the sounds and presence of children are a gift to the Church. Families are welcome to worship together, and we hope children come to know this as a place where they are loved and belong.

Accessibility

We want St. Andrew’s to be a place of welcome for all. If you have accessibility needs or questions about how we can help you participate fully in worship, please contact us. We will do our best to support you.

Parking and Arrival

Parking is available along the streets of Plowman and Oak Streets.

When you arrive, feel free to introduce yourself. Greeters or ushers can help you find your way, answer questions, and provide a service leaflet.

Visiting for the First Time?

You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. You do not need to be Episcopalian. You do not need to have perfect faith.

Come and pray with us. Come and rest. Come and see.
